Maternity outfit staples

I am currently 30 weeks along with my THIRD pregnancy in 3.5 years!!! Some days it feels like I have been pregnant for the last 3 years straight! One thing I have learned along the way is that you only need to add a few good maternity outfit staple pieces to your wardrobe to get you through your pregnancy. You don’t need to break the bank to dress the bump! If you have been following me, you know I love to make non-maternity clothes work while pregnant. But, I also think it is important to have a few basic staple maternity items in your closet. Today I am rounding up 4 top maternity items I think every pregnant girl needs!

Maternity Clothes Staple 1: Tee’s

Maternity t-shirts

Once you hit your third trimester you will definitely be needing a few good maternity t-shirts. I have a few long sleeve and short sleeve options. These are great for every day wear, but could also be dressed up under a jacket. I was a full time nurse with my first two pregnancies and these t-shirts came in handy in place of my scrubs!

Maternity Clothes Staple 2: Leggings

Anyone who has ever been pregnant has owned a pair of maternity leggings. There is just no avoiding these! But, not all maternity leggings are equal. I have been known to wear a see-through pair before, unbeknownst to me! So ladies, make sure you do the squat check in your new maternity leggings before heading out the door! I prefer full-panel leggings while pregnant, that go over the belly. I’ve linked a few of my favorites, that are NOT see-through!!

Maternity Clothes Staple 3: Jeans

If you are pregnant in cooler months, you will absolutely want a pair of maternity jeans. Leggings can DEFINITELY  be dressed up, but I like to have a pair of jeans to style as well especially as the temps start to drop. I wouldn’t splurge too much on these, you can find some great options at good prices.

Maternity Clothes Staple 4: Dress

You will want at least one every day maternity dress, especially if you are pregnant in the warmer spring/summer months. Towards the end of my pregnancies this is all I want to wear! It is great to find one that is neutral and you can dress up or down.

I hope this serves as some inspiration for you mama-to-be’s! You absolutely do not have to break the bank, to dress the bump! I would love to know in the comments, (if you are expecting) how far along you are and if you know the gender!
