Today I am sharing my hospital bag checklist what I packed and used! If you are new here, I had our third child (a boy named Hayes) on December 23rd! (Read Hayes’ Birth Story here!)This was my third labor and delivery experience, and with each hospital stay I have learned what I will actually use and what isn’t really necessary! Today, I wanted to share what I actually used while at the hospital, so that you don’t waste your time and money on things you likely won’t use! In this blog post you will also find a free PDF printable checklist you can use when preparing your bag for your labor and delivery!
I personally have had a c-section with our first (Scarlett) and then two VBAC deliveries (with our boys), I stayed at the hospital for 3 nights with my c-section delivery and only one night with my last two deliveries. I will say for the c-section delivery you may need a few more items, but for the most part this checklist will cover you!

Some of my Favorite items:
Diaper Bag details: I have the Lily Jade “Caroline” bag in the color stone and gold. I am loving it, it is hands down my favorite diaper bag! My cross body strap is linked here!
My Brest Friend Nursing Pillow: I truly do not think I would have been as successful at nursing my babies if it were not for this pillow. Ive used it with all three, and it is so helpful in positioning the baby those first few weeks and months.
High-waisted underwear: I typically wear the mesh underwear that the hospital provides. But, I quickly transition to the high-waisted underwear. This pair is my favorite for post-partum!
Nursing Tanks: I loved this brand with all three kids, it has good support and you can just throw a robe and comfy pants on with it!
Sandals: I loved these and they are super affordable! Here is another similar pair!
Loose Comfy Pants: My exact pair that I wore with all three are sold out, but I own this pair and they would be amazing in that initial postpartum period!
Nursing Bras: These came highly recommended to me and I have been loving them this time around!
Baby Swaddles: We love this brand for the brand new babies, and then switch to this brand when they get to about 1-2 weeks old!
Newborn sleepers: I love these newborn outfits because they zip from the bottom up. They also hold up great after lots of washes!
I hope this was helpful to you all! Everyones birth experience is so different, so there will always be things that work best for some and not for others. I hope if you are reading this and are expecting that you have the best labor and delivery experience possible and feel a little more prepared with this checklist!
