Hayes’ 2 Month Update

Back when I started my blog a few years ago, I wrote a monthly update on Scarlett (see a throwback blog post here.) I then stopped blogging for a long time. But, I so wish I had done monthly updates like this for each of my kids to look back on. These early years are flying by, and especially that first year of their lives. I am going to try to be better about documenting every little milestone so we have a little spot to go and see the memories! So today I wanted to share Hayes’ 2 month update!

The first two months of Hayes’ life have flown by! (see Hayes birth story here) It seems the more children we have the faster life goes. I feel so blessed with how seamlessly a new addition to our family has gone. While adding a third child has had its challenges and added stress, I feel like overall we have adapted to this new normal well! If I’m being honest I think the transition from 1 to 2 kids was more challenging for us than 2 to 3!

Hayes is starting to smile and coo, it is the sweetest! Ryan and I are soaking up this sweet stage because soon enough he will be crawling all over getting in to everything! He sleeps about 7 hours then another 3-4 hours at night. I feel so lucky about that! We haven’t had his 2 month checkup so I’m not sure on weight, but he fits perfectly into 0-3 month clothes. He was only 14% for weight at his one month checkup, but we definitely think he has grown a lot the last month! Scarlett and Graham just adore him. Graham had a transition period of a little bit of jealousy but he has quickly grown to love the little guy!

What we’ve been loving lately:

Bassinet: We got this bassinet with Graham and love it! We feel safe with him in it because of the netting around the sides. Also, love that it swivels so you can move it closer to you at night if needed. 

DockATot: A friend gave this to us this time around and it is amazing! Definitely worth the splurge in my opinion, I wish we had it with our first two. 

Diaper Caddy: Having two kids in diapers, this is a must. It keeps our diapers organized and easily on hand. 

Sleepers: I love these sleepers because they zip from the bottom to the top and vice versa. Makes diaper changes so easy! Also, these are SUPER affordable. I hate to spend much on baby clothes because they grow so quickly!

Play Mat: We’ve had this playmat for all three kids and it has held up great. I also love that you can wash the bottom. Hayes has been loving this lately, its so cute!

Nursing Pillow: I’ve used this nursing pillow for all 3 kids and it has held up great. I will likely use this for another few weeks until he has more muscle control. I love that it supports my back.

Aquarium: We sit this next to Hayes when he is playing on the playmat. He loves watching it!

Aden +Anais Blanket: We love these muslin blankets to lay on the ground and let him stretch out. They hold up great in the wash! 

Sleepsack: Ryan and I call this fleece sleepsack our lucky charm. He sleeps best in this fleece one! I like that it keeps him nice and swaddled. 

I can’t wait to see what changes come in the next month for Hayes. One big one is he will be moving out of our room into his own room! (As long as we can get it finished!)
