It is truly incredible how fast this girl is growing. I’ve heard the saying “babies don’t keep” and man they do not! Our little girl has grown leaps and bounds again this month, and I say it every month but this is my favorite age! She has become so chatty, she is known in her gymnastics class as the chatty babe. She isn’t saying “mama” or “dada” just yet but her baby babbling is the cutest. This past month we spent mostly traveling. We were in Florida for 9 days and back in Ohio visiting family for 6 days. This girl is such a trouper when we travel. I am planning to do a blog post soon with tips/tricks and must have items for traveling with a baby soon. She loved the Florida sun, pool and beaches and we can’t wait to get her back to the beach!SCARLETT’S PAJAMAS: Buy Buy Baby // SCARLETT’S BOW: Bloomingdale’s
What Scarlett’s Up to This Month:- She has been going to gymnastics at The Little Gym since she was about 5 months old, but I would say this last month she has just LOVED it! She can do a forward roll (with my assistance), “walks” on the balance beam, and loves to play/interact with all of the other babes. Her class is 4-10 month olds and it is so fun to see the different stages each baby is at. If you have a Little Gym near you I highly recommend it!
- She is scooting everywhere but isn’t quite crawling yet. We are looking forward to her crawling but to be honest, our place is not exactly baby-proofed just yet. She can pretty much scoot wherever she wants to go, but it is a slow scoot so I can keep my eye on her =)
- She FINALLY likes baby food! We had started solids with her as soon a she showed signs that she was ready (around 5 months). But it wasn’t until this month that she actually seemed to enjoy most of the foods we gave her. I have tried almost every single brand of baby food available at Target and the local grocery store in an attempt for her to like something. I have heard that Little Spoon is a great home delivery baby food service, so we may have to give that a try!
- Vtech Sit to Stand Learning Walker: Scarlett is absolutely obsessed with this toy right now. I wasn’t sure if she would like it yet, because I assumed it was a walking toy. But, she loves to sit in front of it and play. We also practice standing and she holds onto it, it’s too cute! I will admit the music can be a bit obnoxious on this one, but that’s what on/off switches are for!
- Ripple Bathtub Mat: Scarlett outgrew her sink tub last month so we decided it was time to transition her to the normal tub. I was so excited for this but quickly realized she was slipping all over the tub. I was so afraid she was going to slip and fall over and knock her head. I ran to Target that night and found this mat. It has been great, she doesn’t slip at all. And after the bath I just hang it on my shower head to dry out.
- Ergobaby Baby Carrier: One of our big trips this past month was to Disney World (tips for taking a baby to Disney would make for a good whole other blog), but this was a lifesaver. We brought our stroller, but she would get antsy in the stroller so we were happy to have this carrier as a backup! She can go forward facing now, but if she wanted to nap we would face her toward us. This carrier has great support, and we have used it since she was a baby. It has a newborn insert that we used to help her fit the first month or so.
